SOX Controls Walkthrough Studio

Six modules that turn fuzzy process knowledge into walkthrough notes and readiness statuses your reviewers can follow.

Workshop participants collaborating around laptops

What you will leave with

  • Three revised walkthrough notes ready for peer challenge
  • A control map linked to assertions and owners
  • A sampling plan that fits a UK shared-service calendar
  • Configured views inside the SOX readiness audit app workspace

Learning outcomes

Distinguish narrative fluff from evidence that proves the control operated. Capture exceptions without burying the file. Align ITGC and business-process language so status meetings stop translating mid-sentence.

Six focused blocks

Scope without theatre

Inventory what is in, what is deferred, and how to record that decision so it does not resurface as surprise.

Owners, frequency, assertions

Write fields that match how work actually runs across UK locations and vendors.

Walkthrough note craft

Structure observations, system touches, and compensating steps without novel-length prose.

Exception logging that helps

Record misses so remediation has a chance — and so the readiness audit app status stays honest.

Sampling that respects dual systems

Plan selections when two ERPs or a legacy ledger still sit beside the modern stack.

Mock review clinic

Present a live control package and receive challenge questions from instructors and peers.

“Module three on exception logging changed how our analysts annotate the readiness audit app.”

“Useful critique on our revenue narrative. The manufacturing sampling examples were thinner than I hoped — we filled that gap internally.”

FAQ

Do I need an existing SOX programme?

It helps, but is not required. We assume you have processes to document. Brand-new first-year programmes should start with Entity-Level Control Mapping before this studio.

Is the SOX readiness audit app included?

Learners receive a hands-on workspace for the duration of the cohort. It is a training environment, not a production licence for your company systems.

What is a real limitation of this course?

We do not deep-dive industry-specific revenue recognition models. If your edge cases sit in niche manufacturing or long-term contracts, you will still need specialist input outside the studio.

How much time each week?

Plan for four to five hours across live sessions and drafting. Peak weeks around the mock review may run longer.
